Vastu for plot & land selection
Shape, slope and direction checks before you buy a property.

Choosing the right plot is one of the most important Vastu decisions you'll ever make — far easier to get right before you build than to correct afterwards. Shape, slope, surrounding roads and direction all shape the energy of your future home. Here's what we check on every site visit.
Plot shape matters
Square and rectangular plots are the most auspicious — they hold balanced energy. Avoid plots that are triangular, irregular or have cut corners, especially in the North-East. A slightly extended North-East corner is considered very favourable.
Slope and levels
The ideal plot slopes gently downward towards the North or East and is slightly higher in the South and West. This supports the flow of positive energy and good drainage. Avoid land that slopes towards the South-West.
Surrounding roads
Roads on the North or East side of a plot are highly auspicious. A plot with roads on all four sides is excellent. Be cautious with T-junctions or roads hitting the South-West corner directly.
Soil and surroundings
Firm, fertile soil and a clean environment indicate healthy energy. Avoid plots near cemeteries, large dumps, or directly facing sharp building corners. Note the position of large trees, water bodies and tall structures around the plot.
Direction of the entrance
Plan ahead for a North, East or North-East facing main entrance. The placement of the entrance on the plot is one of the strongest factors in the home's future prosperity.
Try these this week
- Visit the plot at different times of day to feel its energy and light.
- Prefer a slightly higher South-West corner — it brings stability.
- Get a Vastu consultation before signing — corrections are far cheaper pre-build.
